Gregorio de Jesús Vázquez López studied History at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Chiapas. For over ten years, he has been involved in the rescue of archives in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, including the Carlos Z. Flores Archive and the José Weber Biesinger Archive. He has taken various modules and workshops on the conservation of documentary and photographic archives, as well as receiving training in basic restoration. Currently, at the Na Bolom Cultural Association, he serves as the director of the Research and Archives Department, preserving and disseminating collections related to Frans Blom and Gertrude Duby.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated in organizing exhibitions such as “La Enseñanza 100 años” (2015), “Los documentalistas” (2016), “Ojos de agua, Frans Blom y la arqueología lacustre en la selva lacandona” (2019), among others. He was the coordinator and curator of exhibitions like “La Gráfica de Na Bolom, imágenes y grabados” (2016), “El pasado es un tesoro, fotografías de Gertrude Duby” (2018) presented at the Center for Latin American Studies in the Netherlands, and “Lumachromes de Janet Marren” (2022). He has presented lectures and conferences in various parts of the state, the country, and the Netherlands. He has written various texts for the dissemination of collections in magazines such as Jovel, Gaceta del consejo de la Crónica San Cristobalense, Pobacma-Unicach, Origenes-Embajada de México en los Países Bajos, Cuartoscuro, and will soon be published in the proceedings of the 1st National Colloquium on Regional History and Photography with his text titled “Elementos para el estudio del indigenismo en Chiapas en el archivo fotográfico de Gertrude Duby.”
