Every year, Bern celebrates Fasnacht. Inner demons, angels, clowns, and film characters surface as the usually reserved Bernese leave their everyday attire at home. They bring out their deepest fantasies in a childlike ritual of dressing up, giving life, for a few nights, to their alternative identities.
